Beaufort Books an independent publisher who accepts submissions for fiction and nonfiction all year round. Spencer Hill Press is an independent publishing house specializing in YA and New Adult / Contemporary Romance literature. Before submitting your manuscript, we suggest familiarizing yourself with our catalogs to decide if your manuscript is a suitable fit. We do not accept educational material, short stories, or erotica.

We are looking for passion and knowledge within the submissions we receive. Finding the right home for your work takes time and effort, and we are excited to be part of your journey. It is expected that your novel be thoroughly researched to ensure that it is authentic and free of errors. Please be aware that for non-fiction submissions, it is the author’s responsibility to fact-check all information is accurate before submitting. It is also required that if your manuscript includes images, graphics, or quotations, you have obtained permission to use the material.

All submissions for both Beaufort Books and Spencer Hill Press should include the full manuscript, as well as a cover letter that provides us with background about yourself and what inspired you to write your book. Just like in a book’s initial hook, if you are able to pitch your manuscript in only a couple of intriguing sentences, you’re ahead of the game. Your submission should also include a synopsis of your book that is direct, simple, and under one page. Please include your marketing plan and target audience, and how you believe your book appeals to that market.

As smaller publishing companies, it may take us some time before reading your submission. Response time can take between 3-4 months or longer, but we try to keep up.
